Strategic Moves: My In-Person Chess Tournaments

"As the ivory pieces danced across the checkered battlefield, I found myself immersed in a world of strategy, memory, and anticipation. Chess – a game of kings and queens, knights and bishops – had become my passion. From online duels on chess.com to nerve-wracking in-person tournaments in Tulsa, my journey unfolded. The thrill of victory, the sting of defeat – each move held significance. And in those quiet moments, when the board stretched before me like an uncharted map, I reveled in the puzzles that awaited. Join me as I share tales of grandmasters and novices, of calculated gambits and unexpected twists. Whether you’re a seasoned player or a curious beginner, let’s explore the intricate dance of 64 squares. The clock ticks, the pieces advance, and the battle rages on. Who will emerge victorious? Let the games begin!"

Our First Christmas As A Family Of Three.

In this blog, I share how we celebrated our first Christmas as a family of three with our baby boy Pierce. He loved all the attention and the Christmas trees, but he was also very tired from all the excitement. We also visited our families and wore matching pjs. How was your Christmas?

Preparing for Our Son: A National Parks Themed Nursery and a Family Heirloom

We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our son, who is due on October 1st. We have been busy preparing his nursery, which has a special theme that reflects our love of nature and camping. We chose to decorate his room with national parks motifs, such as posters, stickers, and bedding. We also have a crib and a changing table that match the rustic style of the room. We are grateful to our friend who helped us with the remodeling and painting of the nursery. He did a wonderful job of creating a cozy and inviting space for our baby boy. One of the most meaningful items in the nursery is a pair of wooden ducks that my grandfather carved by hand. He used to make these ducks every Christmas and give them to his children and grandchildren. He had a workshop at Grand Lake, where he enjoyed fishing and boating. He passed away a few years ago, but his memory lives on in his beautiful creations. We decided to put the ducks in our son’s room as a way of honoring his great-grandfather and sharing our family heritage with him. We hope that he will grow up to appreciate the natural beauty and the craftsmanship that inspired these ducks.
