Preparing for Our Son: A National Parks Themed Nursery and a Family Heirloom

I really enjoyed playing softball in the “cool” weather this weekend . It felt like fall for the first time in so long. Well if you can consider 90 degrees fall. We are also delighted to have our nursery ready for our son. We still have some minor things to do, like putting wall plate covers on and baby-proofing the room, but we have plenty of time for that. We are just glad to see the crib, the changing table, and the decorations in place.

A good friend of ours did everything for us. He loves remodeling and he did a fantastic job of incorporating our national parks theme. We are lucky to have him as a friend. We decided on national parks since we love to camp and go to national parks so hopefully that's something we can pass onto our son. As a thank you we are going to treat our friend to Farm Bar on Friday. It is a delicious farm-to-table restaurant that we are fortunate to have in the city. It is expensive but it sure is tasty.

One thing we're happy to add to the room my grandfather used to carve ducks out of his shop at grand lake and gift it to his kids and grandchildren every Christmas so we took a couple of those ducks put them in pierce's room kind of a not only does it go with the theme of the National Park but it's just a cool little family creation that we're able to add to his room.

Our due date is still October 1st, but he is growing fast, so we’ll see. He is healthy and so is Kaley, and that’s what matters most. We are excited about starting this new chapter of our lives.
