Meet Pierce Owen Clark Jobe: The Story Behind His Names

I'd like to introduce you to our son, Pierce Owen Clark Jobe. His names hold special meaning to us, and each one represents something dear to our hearts.

First, Clark, one of his middle names, is inspired by my brother-in-law. Clark has Down syndrome, and he's a person we deeply love and admire. We wanted to honor him by giving our son his name. It's a way for us to express our affection and respect for Clark.

Pierce is a name we chose simply because we liked it. During our search for a suitable boy's name, we came across many options, but Pierce stood out. It's unique, and it resonated with us. It's worth mentioning that Clark is a fan of James Bond, with Pierce Brosnan being his favorite Bond actor. We thought that choosing a name connected to his interest might make him even more excited about being an uncle, if that's even possible!

Owen, another middle name for Pierce, carries a family tradition. It's my middle name, and it's also my dad's middle name. This makes Pierce the third generation with the name Owen. We'll see if he decides to continue this tradition or go in a different direction in the future.

In terms of our family's well-being, everyone is healthy. Our journey into parenthood had a few unexpected twists, as we had to induce labor earlier than planned. However, in the end, everything worked out well. Some days, we get a good amount of sleep, while other days are more challenging, which was expected for parents of a newborn. Nevertheless, we're trying to savor this precious baby time because it's short, and we know we'll miss it when it's gone.

As for my work situation, I'm currently balancing a mix of office and home-based work. I'm still handling a full workload, but I'm making an effort to work from home as much as possible. This allows me to be around for my family, especially during these early days. While I anticipate that I'll eventually return to the office five days a week, for now, I'm primarily going in for meetings and tasks that require the setup in the office with multiple screens and fewer distractions.
